We began our journey on the ICE train. We all huddled up together for the three-hour trip.
The bratts!
Tanaya decided she wanted to read to everyone. So we enjoyed a good story.
Joey was trying to map out the navigation so I thought I'd entertain him a little.
LeeLee loving on her daddy.
Finally our first step off of the train. We made a breif stop by the Notre Dam Cathedral before we headed to our hotel.
So the rumor is...Paris is expensive! So it is true! So we'd thought we'd cut some corners to make our money stretch a little further. I researched extensively online for a hotel that would house our big group and was thrilled when I came accross a REALLY GOOD DEAL! The catch was that it was several miles out of the city. No worries. Joey voluneered his navigation skills to get us back and fourth to the city. Little did we know that we would be walking, and walking, and walking, and walking some more, and some more, and walking (not to mention the million times we were lost on the trains). So we walked some more and FINALLY we arrived at the hotel. But the lobby was closed!!!!! 9:30 pm we almost thought we were going to camp on the grass in front of the hotel. Joey rang the bell over and over and eventually somebody answered. We got our keys and were ready for a good nights rest in our spacious "triple bed" room with AC.
And then we opened the doors to our rooms...........
And this is what we found.
This was it...litterally. There was just enough room to walk around the bed let alone room for our luggage.
Here is what I like to call our "porter potty" bathroom. I was afraid to go in. The picture actually makes it look better than it did.
After a long exhausting walk we decided to turn in anyway......what choice did we have at the point?
Now for some AC-----WHAT----they don't work!
So instead of trying to get some rest we stayed up and looked for another hotel closer to the city.
Note to self: Paris and kids do not mix. Paris without kids is in the making!
Lesson learned: Do NOT try to cut corners on a hotel room especially when you have kids. After long walks in Paris you deserve a comfy hotel to recoup in! Just pay the MULLAH!
